What are we looking for?

Both oral and poster presentations require abstracts to be considered for presentation at the student sustainability summit (S^3). Authors are allowed to present their work which is already published in journal articles or presented in other scientific meetings/conferences. S^3 committee reserves the right to reject or modify abstracts, for the following reasons (but not limited to):

  • Contributed oral presentations by students will be 10 minutes long followed by a short Q&A discussion.
  • All oral presentations presentations will be streamed and recorded.
  • In-person presentations are, in general, reserved for students in and around Maryland as we do not provide any accommodation/transportation or reimbursement for them. However, other students are welcome to present if they can manage their own accommodations.

Poster Presentation

  • Poster presentations will be an in-person event only.
  • Poster presentations are, in general, reserved for students in and around Maryland as we do not provide any accommodation/transportation or reimbursement for them. However, other students are welcome to present their posters at the in-person event if they can manage their own accommodations.
  • Recommended poster size: 5 ft and 6 inches tilted, 5ft and 5.5 inches center to ground, Standard length between rods is 1 foot.
  • Maximum poster size: 5ft and 6 inches tilted, 5ft and 3 inches from center to ground, standard length between rods is 1 foot.
  • Recommended font size of 24-32 points for body text and 72-100 points for the poster's main title text
  • Choose one of the following font styles - Arial, Helvetica, or Georgia
  • Limit your font colors to 2-3
